5QF & Sneak Peeks!

Alright friends! Here's the Five Question Friday answers.

1. If you knew your best friend's spouse was cheating on her or him, would you tell her (him)?
ABSOLUTELY! My loyalties are to my girlfriends, first. I'd probably talk to her husband first and give him a fess up-or-else, kind of talk. If I knew their husband was cheating, I would be heart broken for them, but if he didn't tell her, I would certainly tell her. I know there is the "it's not really your business" approach, but if I had a friend that knew my hubs was up to no good and never told me, I'd be really upset. I'd probably feel betrayed by her too. It's an awful situation to be in, but I'd feel best if she found out sooner then later.

2. Soda in a can or a bottle?
I don't really care. I grew up with them in a bottle, so there's an element of nostalgia that way, but a can works just fine too.

3. What do you wash first, hair or body?
Hair.

4. What advice would you give to any new mama?
Cut yourself some slack. Rest as much as you can. Be willing to ask for help and accept other people's help/ideas (even if you don't use them then, always be keep them in stashed in your memory for future reference, it may be useful later or for your next child). Be flexible, don't get to strict about how you think things should go, it's much less stressful for everyone if there is a serious amount of flexibility! Snuggle and love on them as much as you can!!

5. What is your best hangover remedy?
I've got nothing. I've never actually gotten to a place to need a remedy. I can barely handle the taste for one drink. Sorry, no help here!

That's it. I hope this gave you another little glimpse of who I am.

And, just for coming by on this lovely Friday, I'll share with you a few sneak peek pictures of some upcoming posts and projects I'll be revealing soon.

Three T-shirt upcycle projects!
A new recipe
What do you think this will be?
A new picnic table.
Re-doing our daughters room, lots of projects will be revealed for this one!
Come check them out throughout the next couple of weeks. I'll be posting some tutorials and some DIY project reveals. I've also been learning a few new tricks in the kitchen that I'm looking forward to sharing with you soon!

Also, during this upcoming week we'll be celebrating TWO big days! They'll be all sorts of fun to share with you!

Have a great weekend and I'll see you back here on Monday! :)

This is a blog hop, join the fun! :)

5QF

I love My Little Life's blog and find her hilarious! Her Five Question Friday is always a fun way to get to know other bloggers, I feel like I know some of their "secrets" each week! ;) I don't always participate, but thought it would be fun to do so again this week. Here's her questions:

1. Do you think cursive writing is overrated? (Schools in Indiana have now voted to take teaching cursive writing out of their curriculum.) Hm, well from a teacher's stand point, I think it's a valuable skill, maybe not necessarily to write it, but kids should know how to read it. There are a lot of people who write in cursive, especially an older generation and learning to write in cursive ultimately helps kids learn how to read it too. So, the short answer is: No, I don't think it's overrated. I would disagree with IN and their decision to take it out of the curriculum.

2. Do you still use a pocket calendar or notepad or do you keep your info on your smart phone?
Everything is on my phone. Although I do keep a small notepad in my purse and large calendars at home, but most things are kept track of on my phone now.

3. What 3 things would you save if your house was burning down? (family & pets are already safe)
Oh wow, I hate these questions because there seems to be "the perfect answer" you should come up with, but it's usually lame and fake. So, anyway, I've thought of this before and lets just assume all my important documents have already been saved or removed from the house, k?
1. Pictures. As many of the photo albums, pictures on the wall, and tubs of printed pictures I could possibly grab. I'd bring them all out. I find that those are memories and moments that can't be relived and I'd want the pictures that document special moments in our lives to be saved.
2. My kid's favorite "lovies". My daughter carries what she calls her "mama shirt" and my son has a special blanket. Both are SO irreplaceable to me. I know they are not worth a dime financially, but those two things are worth millions to my family. If they hadn't already grabbed them, I'd probably run back in a burning building for those two pieces of fabric because I know my kids would be devastated to lose them. And, if it means that much to them, then it means that much to me too.
3. I have a small box of sentimental items that I'd bring out too. It has notes that my husband has written for me over the years and things like that in it. Again, those are the irreplaceable things. The love notes, the small gifts, the moments that can't be relived.

4. Country Mouse or City Mouse, err Person?
Totally a city mouse! There are things about the country that I enjoy and I don't mind living out in the "country" as long as I have access to the city in less then a 10 minute drive. There is something about the city though, that I just love. I love all the options of things to do, the culture, the history, the excitement. After being in NYC I recognized that even more about myself. I do better when I have access to the city.

5. If you could pick ANY reality show to go on, which would you pick?
Totally, totally Amazing Race. I used to be completely addicted to that show, but I haven't watched it in ages...total bummer! Anyway, I love seeing new places, experiences new cultures, it's totally up my alley. I've tried to talk my hubs into liking the idea, but it's not his thing AT ALL. I think we could kick butt though because we are both SO determined and competitive, but our downfall would be getting too involved in the game that we don't communicate well and start arguing with each other all the time--not so good. So, I'm recruiting possible teammates, any takers! ;)

That wraps up this week's version of Five Question Friday, hope you liked it!  I have all kinds of great posts lined up for next week. I'll be sharing with you the highlights of my trip to NYC, a few grocery budget updates/ideas, a debt update, along with some other fun projects. (I can't tell you ALL my secrets!) I'll be working on some projects this weekend to share with you soon too, so be sure to check in. Have a great weekend friends and I'll see you back here on Monday!

Five Question Friday

Happy Friday everyone! :) As I mentioned yesterday this has been a fabulous week. I've been able to get some projects done and that feels great. I came across a new blog the other day in my 'wandering' the web and she does a fun thing on Fridays called 5QF (5 ?? Fridays). I thought I'd give it a try this week and see how it goes. These questions come from her blog, so anyone who is participating is answering the same 5 questions today! Kind of fun, right?

1. What is your favorite summer time activity?
Hmm...if you know me I love, love, love everything summer! :) Well, not everything, but the list of things I don't like is short. ;) I enjoy being outside and that is probably the main reason I love summer so much. If I had to pick my favorite thing I think it would be going swimming. It's refreshing and fun, it's nice to get warmed up and dry under the sun while eating a yummy picnic lunch. All around it just makes for a great family day and it just makes me think, "this is summer!"

2. Do you have one laundry soap you stick to, or do you buy whatever's on sale?
Interesting you should ask! :) Well, I used to buy anything that was on sale and that smelled yummy. But for almost the last year, I've been making homemade laundry soap for several reasons (sensitivity to chemicals & cost being the primary ones).

3. What is your favorite dinner to make in the summer?
Grilling. Nearly anything anything grilled is so delicious! Again, it's one of those things that makes me think, "summer". I'll be posting more about this soon, so stay tuned... :)

4. Do you have any talents?
Well, gee, I hope so. I don't think I have any random, goofy talent, but I'm sure I have some. Wow! Can't really think of any actual talent to tell you about though...this isn't good. Lets just all pretend that I do and I'll have to get back to you on this one! ;)

5. If you could instantly be an expert in something, what would it be? Why?
Hmm...I think there are a lot of things I would really like to be an expert at, but the first one that came to mind is the one I'll go with. I think it would be awesome to be able to learn/speak/understand languages quickly. Communication is such a keep to relationships and people, it's essentially the core of relating with each other and it would be sweet (in my opinion) to not have that barrier with people who don't speak the languages I speak.

I hope you enjoyed my first version of 5QF. I did, so much so that I might try it again some time. While we're on the topic of questions, be sure to check out the new poll I have up. I can't wait to see all your votes and/or suggestions! :)
